Are you struggling with Oklahoma’s medical marijuana law? Do you know what your company will do if recreational marijuana becomes legal? Join us in February as Charlie Plumb of McAfee and Taft provides insight as to where we currently stand, inconsistencies in federal law, and current testing challenges. He will share examples of employment protections for lawful marijuana users as well as lawful workplace restrictions and will provide practical suggestions as we navigate this volatile topic.

Charlie Plumb received his law degree from Ohio State University, graduating with honors in 1982, and represents management in all phases of employment law and labor relations. Much of his practice is dedicated to counseling employers on compliance with a broad range of state and federal employment laws and regulations and educating management on best practices for avoiding disputes arising from the employer/employee relationship. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section and the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Labor Council.

Charlie is a frequent speaker on labor and employment issues before state, regional and national audiences, has been interviewed by local and national media on a variety of state and federal employment law matters. Charlie has been named one of The Best Lawyers in America in employment law, labor law, and labor and employment litigation. He is also co-editor of the Oklahoma Employment Law Letter, a monthly review of new court decisions, regulations and laws that affect state employers, as well as co-editor for the Oklahoma section of the annual guidebook for employers and human resources professionals, 50 Employment Laws in 50 States.

This hybrid meeting will be available in-person at the Choctaw Nation Headquarters (Big Room 1 – check in at the reception desk in the main lobby) and via WebEx. The link will be added as we get closer to the meeting date.

SHRM and HRCI recertification credits will be provided for this meeting.
